House Supervisor

The House Supervisor role is the position the Agency recruits for most often. Listed below are the general qualifications we look for in all employees, along with specific qualifications required for roles like House Supervisor. General Qualifications

Eligible for Reliability Status clearance (i.e. no criminal record)
University degree or two-year college diploma preferably in a related field
Well-developed assertiveness, critical thinking and problem-solving, interpersonal communication, personal organization, report-writing, teamwork and intermediate computer Microsoft Office skills
Must demonstrate ability to follow standard operating procedures, ability to think quickly and clearly in a crisis, commitment and integrity to follow through to completion, maturity and emotional control, patience
Must demonstrate personal commitment to professional standards of work, to the Agency’s mission of assisting marginalized adults to reintegrate successfully into the community, and to maintaining the dignity and worth of each client

Additional Qualifications

Training, competence and experience in basic counselling, conflict resolution, mediation and cognitive/behavioural strategies
Demonstrated experience in collaboratively working with individuals to understand their unique needs, strengths, and challenges, while assessing their behaviors and potential risks. Skilled in developing personalized, client-centered plans that support their goals, empowering them to overcome practical barriers to success, and guiding them in accessing and navigating community resources that meet their needs
Valid St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid Level One certificate that also includes Basic CPR (or other equivalent certification) and valid FOODSAFE certificate
Training in Risk Assessment/Risk Management, Motivational Interviewing, Boundaries, Drug and Alcohol Awareness desirable
Training and experience working with clients with neurological diversities and specifically in effective intervention strategies for adults living with FASD desirable
